The National Weather Service’s Cleveland office has issued a tornado watch effective through 9 p.m. Thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon and evening. Some of them may be severe with large hail and damaging winds. Conditions may also be right for a few tornadoes, the announcement states.
A tornado warning is in effect until 2:30 p.m. for Knox County, south of Mansfield. NWS doppler radar indicates a tornado located south of Mount Vernon moving northeast at 30 mph, as well as a storm in the north part of the county that also could form a tornado.
