Gas leak reported; Drivers should avoid state Route 303 near railroad bridges in downtown Hudson

Published:

The city is investigating a reported gas leak on state Route 303 between the railroad bridges west of state Route 91 in downtown Hudson, according to Jody Roberts, communications manager. Fire, police and Hudson Public Power are on the scene and waiting for the gas company to make an assessment.

The sidewalk on the north side of the road is closed, Roberts said. The city will be closing the westbound lane on state Route 303 at the bridges after 4 p.m. if necessary. Depending on the location and size of the leak, the city may need to close all lanes of state Route 303 at the railroad bridges to fix the problem.

Citizens are asked to avoid this area if possible, Roberts said. Use Veterans Way as a detour. The city will keep the public posted regarding any additional closures on its website www.hudson.oh.us/.
