The St. Mary Catholic Church is hosting a Parish Gala April 12 from 6 p.m. until midnight at the Hilton Garden Inn, Twinsburg.

The event, which will benefit Life Teen and Edge ministries, will feature a live and a silent auction, heavy appetizers and a disc jockey for dancing.

Gala committee member Stephanie Sutton said the auction's highest bidder will win an all-inclusive Walt Disney World vacation for four people.

Other getaways to be auctioned include many other locations including a weekend trip to Chicago and a beach home vacation in Sanibel Island, Florida, according to Sutton.

"There's also going to be a live musical performance by Father Damian and Company," Sutton said.

Gala tickets are $50 per person or $100 a couple and may be purchased online at www.lifeteenbenefit.org.

"We expect record crowds of more than 300 guests and we are featuring an auctioneer, a live dance performance, great food, beverages, games of chance, raffles, dancing, and much more," Sutton said.

Sutton promises the silent auction items will dazzle all guests, featuring diamond jewelry, home goods, spa packages, fitness lessons, local excursions, children's toys and many more unique items.

According to Sutton, The Gala is the only outside fundraising source for the youth ministry programs of St. Mary Catholic Church: LIFETEEN, which is celebrating its 21st year (for high school students) and EDGE, celebrating its sixth year (for middle school students). As the 20th largest program in the country, St. Mary's directly impacts more than 550 children each year. Couples who are vested in the mission of the Church, many of whom have become core staff or youth ministers at other diocesan parishes.
