The Hudson League for Service will host its monthly blood drive at Barlow Community Center Feb. 26 from noon to 6 p.m.
Severe winter weather throughout January and February forced the cancellation of more than 1,000 American Red Cross blood drives in 34 states and Washington, D.C., resulting in more than 35,000 uncollected blood and platelet donations. One donation can help save up to three lives.
The Red Cross needs blood and platelet donors to help restock the shelves this month. Donors of all blood types are currently needed, especially O negative, O positive, B negative and A negative.
Walk-in donors are welcome, but appointments can be made by calling 1-800-RED CROSS or going online at www.redcrossblood.org/make-donation.
