Girls on the Run send packages to troops overseas for holidays

Published:

The Girls of the Run group participated in a Community Service Project in November. They created care packages for deployed Airmen in Afghanistan. One of the Coaches, Deana Dacone, spent a year collectively over two tours at Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan, working as a dedicated crew chief. Her crew's mission was to provide air support to various missions and convoys across Afghanistan along with patroling some areas like the Afghan/Pakistan border. The girls wrote letters to the Airmen and included pictures in the care packages that they prepared.

Shipping to Afghanistan was generously donated by Gem Edwards, a healthcare supply company in Hudson.
