2013 - A Look Back: Wright named Cleveland Browns Coach of the Year

Hudson -- The Cleveland Browns capped off the winning 2013 season of Hudson High School Head Football Coach Ron Wright Dec. 18 by naming him the organization's "Coach of the Year."

Wright was one of 10 finalists and was honored during the first quarter of the Browns' 38 to 31 loss to the Chicago Bears Dec. 14 at FirstEnergy Stadium.

The award was based on Hudson's success during the regular season and the Explorers' performance during the Cleveland Browns High School Game of the Week Sept. 21. Hudson beat Brunswick 22 to 13 in a game that took two days to complete because of inclement weather.

Wright's Explorers finished the season with 10 wins and 2 losses and made it to the second round of the 2013 Division I playoffs.

Wright attended the Browns' game with his 15-year-old son, Jared, a freshman at Stow-Munroe Falls High School.

In addition to presenting Wright a plaque to commemorate the honor, the Browns also are expected to make a $4,000 donation to the Hudson football program.

All 10 finalists for Cleveland Browns Coach of the Year received contributions of $2,000 earlier this season.
