Hudson Public Power has installed the in-ground electric vault at 33 Division St. and will need to energize the new vault. To do so, crews must briefly close the road on Oct. 9 at the vault area and transfer conductors from the street manhole to the new vault.
This will also involve shutting off power to some homes in the surrounding area. The city has decided to do the closure and electric shut off from midnight to 4 a.m. in the morning on Oct. 9 when most people are sleeping to minimize the impact on residents. Most homes will experience two very brief outages (only about 10 minutes each) while the city transfers conductors. Homes in close proximity to the vault may experience an extended outage of about four hours.
