Hudson City Council legislative lowdown for Sept. 18
A proclamation recognizing "Small Business Month" and the importance of Hudson's small business to the local economy, and the supportive efforts of the Hudson Area Chamber of Commerce and the Council of Smaller Enterprises.
A motion to name citizens Greg Nagles, Michael Coburn, Barbara Zubenko and Stacey Hackenberg and Council members Hal DeSaussure, Alex Kelemen and Keith Smith to an ad hoc committee to work with the city staff to review the preliminary connectivity plan and make suggestions to Council by Nov. 6.
A motion to acknowledge the timely receipt of the August 2013 monthly financial report.
A resolution to consent to the Ohio Department of Transportation guardrail upgrades on state Routes 91 and 303 within the city of Hudson limits; and declaring an emergency.
A resolution authorizing the city manager to assign an amended Job Creation Grant agreement from MDC Acquisition Co. LLC to WBC Group LLC, the operating entity creating the jobs; and declaring an emergency.
A resolution authorizing the city manager to enter into a contract with GPD Group for a post-construction study of raised crosswalks and supplemental traffic control measures on various public streets within the Western Reserve Academy campus; and declaring an emergency.
A resolution amending the city of Hudson's volunteer fire department length of service award program by increasing the amount of contribution for the firefighters.
A resolution authorizing the city manager to enter into a contract with M.A.T. Cleaning Service for housekeeping/cleaning services for city offices and public buildings.

A resolution authorizing the city manager to enter into a contract with Cardinal Asphalt Co. Inc. for asphalt street repairs.
A resolution authorizing the city manager to enter into a contract with Schirmer Construction for public improvements for the Safe Routes to School program, including the installation of new electronic school crossing signals on North Hayden Parkway near Evamere, Eastwood and McDowell Schools. The project also includes sidewalk installation along Glen Echo Drive from Hudson-Aurora Road to Victoria Parkway and a new crosswalk, with ADA ramps, and sidewalk installation on Middleton Road from Winterberry Drive to Ellsworth School. In addition, new bike racks will be purchased to be located on school properties; and declaring an emergency.
An ordinance amending sections 220.03(d) and 220.031(a) of chapter 220, "council," of the codified ordinances governing the minutes of City Council meetings to accommodate both a written record and an audio/video recording record to serve as the minutes of Council meetings.
