Stow -- The Stow Post Office was open for business Sept. 16 after a Hudson woman crashed her car into the building's lobby two days earlier.
The lobby was open to customers the day after the crash.
"It mainly took out the front door," said Postal Service spokesperson David Van Allen.
According to a press release from Stow Police Chief Louis Dirker, on Sept. 14 at 11:45 a.m., the 50-year-old woman drove a 2009 Toyota Camry into the lobby of the United States Post Office at 3900 Darrow Road. According to the press release, the vehicle went through the front doors of the Post Office and into the front lobby, injuring a 51-year-old Stow woman.
Dirker said the driver of the vehicle was taken to the Emergency Room at Akron General Medical Center in Stow by the Stow Fire Department.
A woman in the Post Office was transported to City Hospital in Akron. Allen said the woman was "pinned against the post boxes."
The condition of both of the injured parties was unknown at press time. The accident is under investigation.
Van Allen said Sept. 16 that it is unclear when repairs would be completed.
"I don't have a projected date, but it shouldn't be long," he said. "Whatever is done [now], it's fixed well enough that we can use it."
