Hudson -- A 59-year-old pain-management doctor pleaded not guilty Sept. 4 to 23 charges, including rape and sexual imposition, during at his arraignment in Summit County Common Pleas Court.
James Bressi of Victoria Parkway was indicted Aug. 29 by a Summit County grand jury. The indictment included one count of rape, 11 counts of gross sexual imposition and 11 counts of sexual imposition.
Bressi posted a $2 million/10 percent bond Sept. 4 and was ordered to have "no contact" with the alleged victims and will be monitored by GPS. He is scheduled for a Sept. 10 pre-trial hearing in front of Common Pleas Court Judge Thomas Parker.
Bressi's attorney, John Schiller was out of the country and could not be reached for comment.
Bressi was arrested Aug. 30 at his home by members of the Hudson and Stow Police Departments, Northeast Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force and the Summit County Sheriff's Department.
He was indicted after an 18-month investigation by Stow Police, according to Stow Police Chief Louis A. Dirker, Jr. The indictment alleges Bressi assaulted the patients under his care from September 2011 to March 2013, while he was employed at Summit Pain Specialists in Stow.
The 23 charges stem from 10 alleged victims, according to Dirker. However, he said more than 40 more alleged victims have contacted police.
