City launches mobile mapping application

Published:

The City of Hudson has released a mobile mapping application that makes it easy to use Hudson's GIS mapping services from a smartphone, IPad or other mobile devices. The mobile application offers mobile device users the same robust features available on the city's website GIS mapping service.

Through the Hudson GIS mapping application, visitors can view a property, locate nearby utilities, create custom maps and access other geographical information. The application also offers historical land maps, floodplain maps, drawing tools to create graphics and highlight specific items on customized maps.

To use the application, users can type the address of a property into the search box. Use the "Community Info" and "Map Themes" options to locate parcel information, utilities, FEMA flood plain map overlays, zoning info and more. Customized maps can be downloaded as pdfs or printed.

Although targeted for mobile devices, this application also will function in desktop browsers. Visit http://gis.hudson.oh.us/HudsonJS for the mobile application.
