Kent center offers grief support groups

by SOPHIE KRUSE Published:

Kelly's Grief Center is a non-profit that was founded in 2009 to provide support and counseling by licensed counselors for adults, teens and children grieving the loss of a loved one. The center serves individuals of all ages and offers support through both individual and group counseling. The groups are designed to provide a safe and supportive environment for people to share their loss journey.

Every second and fourth Tuesday of the month, three support groups meet to help participants understand and work through their grief. These consist of one group for children, one for teens and one for adults. All the groups focus on teaching participants healthy ways to cope with their feelings and emotions.

The groups meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m., and the next meeting will be May 28.

Kelly's Grief Center is located in the Counseling for Wellness building at 420 W. Main St. in Kent. Pre-registration is required. Additional parking is available at Christ Episcopal Church, 118 S. Mantua Street. For reservations and further information contact Aileen, Amanda or Loralea at 330-677-2000.
