The City of Hudson began fire hydrant flushing throughout the City April 15 and will continue until April 26. Fire hydrants are flushed two times a year to clear the lines of accumulation. In some instances, residents may notice discolored water. Even though the water may be discolored, it is safe to drink. However, residents who experience discolored water are advised not to use their laundry facilities while the water remains discolored. In some instances, the discoloration may cause discoloring of clothing washed in the water.
