A celebratory party was conducted at The Learned Owl Book Shop this past Saturday afternoon, March 16. The event marked the passing of the torch from Liz Murphy to new owner Kate Schlademan.
Murphy had owned the shop since 1983. She told the Hudson Hub-Times that Schlademan was "the perfect successor to take the Owl forward into the coming decades."
Schlademan estimated that more than 300 people stopped in. "It was really a testament to how much the store means to so many people," she said Monday.
The Bill Kenney Jazz Trio entertained the guests.
