Hudson -- The Board of Education will review and vote on plans for enhancing the security of district school buildings at its Feb. 26 meeting at 7 p.m. in the high school media center.
The plans include enhancing security of the main and auditorium entrance at Hudson High School, the main and natatorium entrance at East Woods Elementary and the main entrances at McDowell and Evamere Elementary schools.
The Board will also vote on an agreement with Sungard Public Sector, Inc. on the purchase and support of a new student information system. The price is not to exceed $269,095 the first year and $118,272 the second and third year of the agreement.

E. Student Information System
Whereas, the Hudson Board of Education has identified, in the annual goals, the
implementation of a comprehensive student and operational information system
as a priority;
Whereas, the Innovation Think Tank, a school and community committee,
commissioned by the Board of Education, recommended a comprehensive
student and operational system to assist in creating potential efficiencies in
operations and data analysis;
Whereas, the Board of Education reaffirms its commitment to effectively and

parent, and staff communication for the academic benefit of students;
Be It Resolved That: The Hudson City School District Board of Education

A. Contractual Services: Stark County Educational Service Center
Be It Resolved That: The Hudson Board of Education enters into
agreement with the Stark County Educational Service Center to provide
educational services for two students during the 2012-13 school year at a
rate NTE $185 per diem for 57 days, NTE $10,545 annually per student.

A. Building Entrance Security Projects
Whereas, the Hudson City School District Board of Education (Board) is
committed to improving the security of district school buildings,
Whereas, the Board has reviewed and accepts the plan for enhancing the
security of the main entrance and auditorium entrance at Hudson High School;
the main entrance and natatorium entrance at East Woods Elementary; and the
main entrances at McDowell and Evamere Elementary schools,
Whereas, Ohio Revised Code section 3313.46 provides for exceptions to the
formal competitive bidding process for construction projects where the primary
purpose is to secure and protect the facility,
Be It Resolved That: The Board hereby waives the formal competitive bidding
requirement for the proposed security enhancements and authorizes the
Business Manager to select a design build contractor to construct said security
enhancements subject to Board's final approval of the contractor and the
contract.
B. Athletic Center Construction Delivery Method
Be It Resolved That: The Hudson City School District Board of Education
accepts the recommendation of the Business Manager to utilize the Design-Build
construction delivery method in accordance with Ohio Revised Code section
3313.46 for the construction of the Athletic Center at Hudson High School. The
Business Manager will present all contracts related to the project to the Board for
approval in advance.
