Hudson -- Water was restored Feb. 13 to 225 Akron Water customers along Middleton Road who had been without service for several hours due to a broken water main.

Repairs to fix the break, which was on Middleton Road, about 600 feet east of Lascala, took about five hours, according to Akron Water.

The repair was completed shortly before 5 p.m. and the customers were returned to full service, according to Rick Forsythe, superintendent of Akron Water Distribution.

However, at press time a boil alert remained in effect for Akron Water customers in Hudson and Twinsburg Township north of and on Middleton Road.

"The precautionary boil water advisory is still in effect," Forsythe said Feb. 14. "We anticipate the advisory will be removed as early as tonight around 9 p.m. when test results become available."

The Hudson City website was advising customers to boil tap water for at least two minutes before drinking it.

The break caused the eastbound lane of Middleton Road to be closed to traffic.

Flaggers were on the scene to keep traffic moving in both directions.

Hudson Montessori School 7545 Darrow Road, remained open, according to school officials. However, after school programs were cancelled Feb. 13.
