Glenn Knowlton named Norandex president and CEO

Hudson - Glenn Knowlton has been named president and CEO of Norandex Building Materials Distribution Inc., the company reported Thursday.

"Norandex is a leader in building materials distribution and we are committed to strengthening that leadership position," Knowlton said. "We have good, hard-working people at the corporate and branch levels ready, willing and certainly capable of servicing the needs of building professionals. My goal is to provide our team with the resources necessary to provide unmatched service to our customers. I am ready to go out into our local markets with our local teams to shake some hands and ask how we can better help our customers."

Most recently, Knowlton was the vice president of sales and marketing for the Saint-Gobain Abrasives business, sister company of Norandex. In this role he was responsible for leading a sales and marketing organization of more than 400 employees. Prior to that, Knowlton served in various capacities with the abrasives business, including North America sales manager, director of marketing, business manager, district sales manager and product /market manager. In addition to his leadership experience Knowlton began his career in direct sales and territory management positions.

"I clearly remember what it was like to pound the pavement, make cold calls and drum up business, and as a result, I have a keen understanding of what our customers face on a daily basis," Knowlton said. "I will never forget that feeling - it's what made me who I am and what drives me to succeed each and every day."

Norandex Building Materials Distribution, headquartered in Hudson, is one of the largest distributors of exterior siding, windows and roofing in the United States. Norandex operates more than 100 branches in 38 states. Norandex is part of the Building Distribution Sector of France-based Saint-Gobain, the world's largest supplier of building materials, with annual sales of $59 billion and 212,000 employees worldwide.
