Hudson -- Hudson Community Education and Recreation is offering everything one needs to jump-start those New Year's resolutions, according to its director, Grant Aungst.
"We have everything to exercise the body, mind and spirit," he said.
HCER programs starting in January can help with weight loss, quitting smoking, body sculpting, sleeping and care giving.
"We have a wonderful pool -- the Ada Cooper Miller pool -- at East Woods School with swimming lessons for all ages, children and adults, and water exercise classes as well," Aungst said.
If quitting smoking is a goal, the HCER is offering a one-day clinic by a nationally know hypnosis specialist Jan. 16 at 6 p.m. at Hudson High School. Advance registration is required.
Need help with weight loss? There will be a one-day clinic on weight loss using hypnotism Jan. 16 from 5 to 6 p.m., also at the high school.
"You know what is really, really important to your health?" Aungst said. "Sleeping."
HCER will welcome a certified sleep expert in January, Aungst said.
The five-week program, Stop Snoring, Insomnia and Sleep Apnea, begins Jan. 23 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Hudson High School.
"Sleeping is hugely important to one's health and well being," according to Aungst.
This doctor-developed breathing retraining program is effective for eliminating excess mucus, shortness of breath, chronic coughing, asthma, allergies, panic attacks and other sleeping problems, according to Aungst.
Aungst recommends table tennis on Monday nights at 7 p.m. at the high school for fun and exercise. It begins Jan. 7.
"We have basketball for all ages of adult men, an indoor golf league and Jazzercise," Aungst said.
Jazzercize is Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 5:45 a.m., and also on Sunday at 9:15 a.m.
Registration is required for all programs. Call HCER at 330-653-1210 or visit www.hudson.edu/hcer for more information and registration.
