Hudson City Council to interview Ward 4 candidates next week

Published:

City Council on Tuesday could appoint a new member to fill the Ward 4 seat vacated by John Jeffers last month.

City Council has scheduled closed-door interviews with applicants for the Ward 4 seat on Jan. 7, and a special meeting on Jan. 8 at 7:15 p.m. at Town Hall.

Council will "consider the appointment of a public official for the Ward 4 vacancy" at the Jan. 8 meeting, according to a notice from the city.

Ward 4 residents can apply for the Council vacancy through Jan. 3.

Council members are paid $10 a month.

Council will select someone to serve the Ward 4 post until the November 2013 election. At that time, the city will conduct an open race for the Ward 4 seat, with the winner serving two years to complete Jeffers' term.
