City issues parking ban, warns residents to stay off the roads

Published:

The city of Hudson is warning drivers to stay off of city roads if possible and has issued an emergency parking ban through noon Dec. 27.

Vehicles are prohibited from parking on city streets until the parking ban has been lifted. This does not include the marked diagonal or parallel parking spaces in front of the Main Street stores, on East Main Street, or diagonal or parallel parking spaces in the downtown area or in First & Main.

The city issued the warning on its website around 12:30 p.m.

"As the snow continues, road conditions are beginning to deteriorate. Roads are icy and becoming treacherous," the city posted. "Please stay off the roads if possible while we are under the winter snow warning."

Drivers should use caution and "leave plenty of stopping distance between you and the vehicle in front of you."

The storm is anticipated to continue through tomorrow morning.

A variety of school activities have been cancelled, and the city is under an emergency snow ban through Dec. 27 at noon.
