Hudson -- An umbrella mistaken for a rifle led to a 20-minute lock down at Hudson High School Wednesday morning.
School officials ordered all doors locked at the high school around 7:30 a.m. after a teacher reported seeing an unidentified person in the parking lot holding what appeared to be a rifle and wearing a hunting cap.
It turned out the person, an employee of Hudson Cable TV, was carrying an umbrella.
Superintendent Steve Farnsworth sent out telephone alert to parents advising them of the situation.
"Responding quickly and appropriately by using the recommended 'see something, say something' procedure, the building was locked down and the police were called," the alert said.
The incident was resolved in about 20 minutes, Farnsworth said.
