Local voters returned their Summit County Council incumbents to office Nov. 6, according to the final but unofficial report from the Summit County Board of Elections.
County Council is the 11-member legislative authority, taxing authority and policy-making body of the Summit County government.
Each district representative will serve a four-year term.
In District 3, which covers Hudson, Stow, Silver Lake and part of Cuyahoga Falls, Republican Gloria Rodgers kept her seat with 20,041 votes (60). Her Democratic challenger, Russ Iona, received 13,065 votes.
Rodgers, 67, has served in the position since 2009.
For the at-large seat, Democratic incumbent Sandra Kurt received 132,367 votes (60 percent) over her Republican challenger, Jane Davis, who had 87,784 votes.
Kurt, 50, from Akron, has had the spot since March 2011. She will now fill the unexpired term running through 2014.
In District 1, Democratic incumbent Nick Kostandaras, 75, of Richfield, won over his Republican challenger, Greg Roemer, 18,020 votes (57 percent) to 13,399 votes.
District 1 includes Macedonia, Sagamore Hills, Northfield Center, Northfield Village, Reminderville, Twinsburg and Twinsburg Township.
In District 2, Democrat John Schmidt, 57, of Cuyahoga Falls, was re-elected with 16,817 votes (66 percent) over Republican challenger Nancy DeLambo with 8,633 votes.
District 2 includes Munroe Falls and most of Cuyahoga Falls.
Democrat Frank Comunale was re-elected in District 4, with 19,894 votes (72.56 percent) over his Republican opponent, Mike Hoover, who received 7,522 votes.
Comunale, 64, from Akron, has occupied the post since January 2007. District 4 includes part of Cuyahoga Falls.
In District 6, Democrat Jerry Feeman, 56, of Tallmadge, retained his seat, receiving 16,596 votes (66.9 percent) to 8,211 votes for Republican challenger Faith Bennetts.
District 6 includes the city of Tallmadge.
