Deer Run Trail in O'Neil Woods reopens

Bath trail damaged during May Storm

Published:

The 1.8-mile Deer Run Trail in O’Neil Woods Metro Park, 2550 Martin Rd., Bath, has reopened following weeks of work to repair storm damage sustained May 12.

Crews have rerouted about a quarter mile of the trail using sustainable techniques including the use of switchbacks and avoiding areas that have been washed out in recent years.

Attention will now be turned to reopening the longer Adam Run Trail in Hampton Hills Metro Park, which also sustained significant damage two months ago. That park’s 1.6-mile Spring Hollow Trail, at 2925 Akron-Peninsula Rd., Akron, has already been reopened following storm cleanup.
