Fair Trade store brings in Cherokee storyteller

Janet Rhodes brings you Fair Trade, 134 N. Main St., will feature Cherokee storyteller Turtlefoot at its Cultures of the World program Nov. 10 at 10 a.m. Native American Bonnie Tomassetti has been telling stories for about 15 years.

Cultures of the World is an educational opportunity for children using story, drama, music, art, games, dance, geography and simple language lessons to bring alive different cultures from around the world. These monthly programs are co-sponsored by the Foundation for Fair Trade Ministry whose mission it is to create peace by promoting fair trade principles. One of the fundamental principles of fair trade is to support indigenous traditions and techniques to sustain cultures and revitalize traditions. Cultures of the World is designed to foster respect and appreciation for the rich heritages across the earth.

The cost for the hour-long class is $5 with a $15 maximum per family. Space is limited. To register, call the store at 330-653-9006 or email janet@janetrhodes.com.
