Nov. 5 marks the eighth annual Community First Ready Set Relax family night.
Hudson Schools plan no after school activities after 5 p.m. and give no homework to students.
The night is for families to have dinner together, relax and decompress. In the past some families have had board game nights, hiked in the park together or just enjoyed sitting down to dinner as a family.
The idea was originally brought to Hudson by way of a parent who lived in Ridgewood, N.J., the town credited with proposing the idea of a relaxation night for families. Research across the nation has shown that the over-scheduling of youth today cause pressure and anxiety. Ready Set Relax brings awareness to the importance of downtime for kids and families.
