Student art will be popping up all over when the 2nd Friday Art Hop returns May 12. Hudson's own art walk, this spring/summer series highlights art studios and galleries in town as well as local businesses that host guest artists and activities. The monthly Hops are from 5 to 8 p.m. on second Fridays, May to August, with a Holiday Hop in December.
"It's our fourth year and we're looking forward to another creative series," said Dana Giel-Ray, Bellabor Art Jewelry.
At Uncommon Art Gallery & Studios, work by Seton Catholic School students will be on display. Hudson Fine Art & Framing and Open Door Coffee will feature student art from the Hudson High School Graphics Department. Photographs by student Boston Meeker will be on display at Fair Trade on Main and Suburban Sit will showcase artists from the Kent State University School of Art.
Also featured will be hand-painted photographs by Patricia Harthcock of Stow at Russell Real Estate Services. MOD at First & Main will have a variety of local and national artists to see and the Learned Owl will also have activities to enjoy. In South Hudson, Eva Volf of Aurora will have her seascape and landscape paintings on display at The Red Twig. Olive My Heart will also feature a guest artist.
