Brecksville, Ohio – On Friday, April 28, Malawian group Peter Mawanga & the Amaravi Movement will play at Happy Days Lodge in Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The concert is hosted by the Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park and the National Park Service, and sponsored by the Ohio Arts Council.

Peter Mawanga was born in Malawi and first captured an audience with his voice at the age of two, when he sang “Amazing Grace” to an airport lounge full of frightened people at the height of the Chimurenga War. Years later, his gift for music has turned into a career. Fusing the rock outfit of drums-bass-guitar with the traditional sounds of Malawi's marimba, thumb piano, and percussion, Mawanga's Afro-vibes create a modern African sound that is intrinsically Malawian.

The concert will take place on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 8 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 for the general public, $15 for Conservancy members, $10 for students, and free for kids under age 10. Buy tickets online at forcvnp.org/concerts or by calling 330-657-2909, option 4.

Happy Days Lodge is located at 500 West Streetsboro Road (SR 303), 1 mile west of SR 8, Peninsula 44264.
