Hiram, OH – Local entrepreneur Evan Delahanty brings a twist to world of fruit snacks. This founder and CEO of Akron-based Peaceful Fruits will describe his trek from South America, as a Peace Corps volunteer, to Northeast Ohio, as a business professional, at the Hiram College Center for Integrated Entrepreneurship’s March 29 Fireside Chat. Free to the public, the event begins at 7 p.m. at the college’s East Hall.
Delahanty joined the Peace Corps in 2011 to help protect the Surinamese Rainforest region from depletion. Delahanty’s experiences there led to the creation of his acai berry Peaceful Fruits, which he describes as all-natural, GMO-free, vegan and USDA organic-certified “superfruit.”
A recent guest on television’s Shark Tank, Delahanty partners with Hattie Larlham and Akron’s Blick Center to provide full-wage jobs for people with disabilities. Although he did not generate Shark Tank investors, Delahanty received more than 3,000 orders the day after his television appearance. The wave of new business allowed Dalahanty to invest about $25,000 more into Hattie Larlham and Blick to meet customer demand for Peaceful Fruit, which is available at roughly 50 stores throughout Ohio.
