Hudson— Music from the Western Reserve is at it again with their fifth concert of the 2016-2017 season featuring Black Squirrel Winds. Named after the unofficial mascot of Kent State University, the musicians come together from lifetime pursuits of precision and craft.
The faculty at Kent State University, uniting their pursuits and converge again — this time into a selfless and exhilarating give-and-take of discovery and refined musicianship.
Black Squirrel Winds members include Danna Sundet on oboe, Diane McCloskey on flute, Amitai Vardi on clarinet, Mark DeMio on bassoon, and Kent Larmee on horn. Accompanying them for the evening will be acclaimed recitalists and soloists Tiago Delgado on clarinet and Elizabeth DeMio on piano.
Guest clarinetist Tiago Delgado will be performing with Black Squirrel Winds. After moving to the United States from Brazil, Delgado is pursuing his masters degree from Kent State University. During his studies, he has received the 2016 Leopold Sipe Award for Excellence in Music Performance, and he also was the winner of the 2016 Kent State University’sConcerto Competition. His education includes a bachelors of music degree from Minas Gerais Federal University and a Performer Diploma from Indiana University.
The concert is March 12 at 5 p.m. This concert is at Christ Church Episcopal located at 21 Aurora St. in Hudson.
