Chagrin Arts will host the fourth and final program of its eighth season of Chautauqua-in-ChagrinTM on Aug. 12 with a presentation led by Professor Allan Boesak, the anti-apartheid leader who worked alongside Nelson Mandela.
The program will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Federated Church, 76 Bell St. in Chagrin Falls. Tickets are $28 to $21 for adults and $5 for students 25 years and younger. Tickets may be purchased by phone at 440-247-9700 or online at www.chagrinarts.org.
The format of the evening will be one of conversation and dialogue between Boesak and moderator Rev. Dr. Joan Brown Campbell. Boesak will relay personal stories about working with Nelson Mandela, and provide insight into the late South African President's life as a statesman and as a beloved friend. To conclude the program, the floor will be opened up to audience members to ask questions.
Additionally, the Chagrin Falls Library will continue its Young Explorers Program at the Chagrin Falls Library. The Aug. 12 program is for children 4 four and older, accompanied by an adult. The entertaining and educational event will feature live music celebrating the African American struggle for freedom through song performed by Muszikat-Shalom. The program will also include a "peace" themed craft project. The Young Explorers Program is free of charge but registration is required by calling 440- 247-3556.
