The Red Twig hosts art show and benefit for veterans

The Red Twig, 5245 Darrow Road, will host an art show featuring local veterans art as well as a raffle to benefit local veterans aid facilities Freedom House in Kent and Valor Home in Akron on July 12 from 2-5 p.m.

Local businesses and artists that have donated items to the raffle include Gavin Scott Salon & Spa, Becky Dahle of Mary Kay, Scribbles Coffee, Shannon Casey Studio and Kathleen Shipman Harrington with more to be announced.

Food and refreshments will be prepared by Chef David Holland along with a donation of sliders from Nosh Eatery for all attendees. Veterans art will include pieces featured by The Vet Art Project Veterans Art Show at the Akron Art Museum on July 10 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The Red Twig also will be donating 20 percent of in house fresh flower sales to the Freedom House and Valor Home. A resource table featuring information about services and facilities available to veterans will be on site during the event.
