AKRON, Ohio - The Akron Zoo is proud to join its fellow accredited zoos & aquariums, as well as thousands of other educational institutions and conservation organizations, in celebrating World Oceans Day Saturday, June 7. The zoo will have displays and activities throughout the park from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. focusing on water and animals.
Visitors will be able to participate in a turtle migration game, activities surrounding the reef, aquatic themed crafts and more. Live island music will be provided by Tom Todd, the one man band. The zoo staff will be wearing Hawaiian shirts that day and guests are encouraged to do so as well. All activities are free with zoo admission.
The Akron Zoo is open 361 days a year. Hours are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and admission is $11 for adults, $9 for senior citizens, $8 for children (ages 2-14). Children under two are free and parking is $3. For more information visit www.akronzoo.org or call (330) 375-2550.
