"Jersey Boys," which is onstage at PlayhouseSquare, received a standing ovation at the May 7 performance.
The musical tells the story about the forming and career of The Four Seasons, focusing on the four original members Frankie Valli (played by Hayden Milanes), Bob Gaudio (played by Quinn VanAntwerp), Tommy DeVito (played by Nicolas Dromard) and Nick Massi (played by Adam Zelasko). The musical features many of The Four Seasons' hits, including "Earth Angel," "Sherry," "Big Girls Don't Cry," "Walk Like a Man" and "Rag Doll." Some members of the audience could be heard singing along on occasion, and there were enthusiastic reactions to the Cleveland notes, particularly the mention of The Four Seasons' induction to the Rock Hall of Fame.
Many in the audience had already seen the show multiple times.
"This is our fourth time," said Mark Melvin of North Royalton. "We are coming back on Saturday, we love it so much."
"And we are bringing our daughter with us," added Mark's wife Julie. "This is a fantastic show."
"Jersey Boys" runs through May 18. Ticket prices run from $30 to $110.
