Artists reception, knitting workshops slated

Knitting for Those in Need (KTN), a not-for-profit charitable organization based in Kent, Ohio, will host an Artist Reception May 17 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Scribbles Coffee Shop.

The volunteer organization promotes the use of the yarn arts of loom knitting, needle knitting and crochet to create items to serve people in need in the community.

A yarn bombing art exhibit is on display at Scribbles Coffee Shop, 237 N. Water. St., Kent through the month of May with a May 17 special reception to promote artists affiliated with KTN who created the display.

There will be free knitting workshops May 17 from 10 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 3 p.m.
