Features: There are numerous camps available for children and teens with special needs: Stars and Stripes - Pre-K-5th; middle and high school children. 6-week camp where children participate in fun and interesting structured activities with the main goal of increasing overall communication abilities. Each week centers on a theme reinforced by OT, ST, PT and educators.

Social Life Skills Group - a unique camp for middle and high school aged students. Concepts and skills are taught through team building, games, and multimedia outlets in a fun and enriching environment. Topics include: friendships, use of technology for communication, bullying, handling criticism, team work, money management, hygiene and exercise, cooking and cleaning.

Cost: $480

Social Butterflies - for children ages 5 to 7 who need to improve their conversational, social, and play skills with peers. 8-weeks begins week of June 16th.

Cost: $350

Social Explorers - for children ages 8 to 10 who need to improve their social and conversational skills with peers. 8-weeks begins week of June 16th.

Glamorous SOCIALites - this is for female teens who struggle with peer interaction but want to have a great time shopping, doing nails and hair, cooking, and other social outlets. Cost: TBD

Handwriting Camp - children ages 6 to 7 or 8 to 9 years of age who need support improving handwriting skills. Led by licensed OT. Meets twice weekly for 6 weeks.

Cost: 12 sessions $400; 6 sessions $250

Pre-writing Camp-children ages 4 to 5 who need support improving fine motor skills to increase their success with writing skills. Led by licensed OT.

Cost: 12 sessions $400; 6 sessions $250

Fancy Nancy- children grades K-3 explore these books in a language rich environment that creates an experience through games, crafts, and writing. Cost: TBD

Curious George - children who are new readers or not reading at all. These books are explored in a language rich environment that creates experiences through games and crafts. Cost: TBD

Phun With Phonics- for younger students with a focus on phonological awareness skills to develop a strong basis for reading readiness. The following skills are targeted in a fun and meaningful way: segmenting, blending, rhyming, and alliteration skills. Cost: TBD

Mommy and Me Book Club - group for young learners and a caregiver to explore our language through books. Each week a new theme is introduced along with circle time fun, art activities, and games. Cost: TBD

Hudson Community Education & Recreation-Half day art Camp

When: July 7-11, 9 a.m.-noon

Where: East Woods Elementary, 120 N. Hayden Pkwy, Hudson

Cost: $175

Features: For grades 2 to 4. Appropriate for students with learning disabilities, ADHD, autism and autism spectrum disorders. Children with more severe mental and physical special needs are welcome to attend with a parent or aide.
