Program Schedule for March 10 - 16

The Heritage Home Program, that offers technical and maintenance advice free to Hudson residents who own homes that are at least 50 years old, is described in a program that airs this week.

Two programs, taped at the Hudson Library and Historical Society by Nick Zaklanovich: "Orbit of Discovery" was presented by Dr. Don Thomas who flew on four separate missions during the American Space Shuttle program in the 1990's. His most momentous flight was the 1995 All-Ohio crewed flight of the Space Shuttle Discovery. He explained the name "The Woodpecker Flight" because the mission was delayed a full month due to an errant woodpecker who attempted to make a home in the spacecraft.

Cultural Historian Mike Goodnough presented a thought provoking review of the Beatles involvement in the volatile days of America in the 1960. "Revolution: The Beatles and the 60s Counterculture" looks at the timing of the Beatles' arrival in America that influenced the rise of the Beats, the Hippies and other counterculture movements that flourished during that time period.

Starting Thursday evening, Music from the Buckeye State is pleased to present Hudson's own Jerry Wong in a program of piano music exploring nature, love and death as a myriad of miniatures by Claude Debussy and Franz Liszt. Also on the program is Sergei Prokofiev's own transcription of Peter and The Wolf with KSU Acting Professor Eric Van Baars serving as narrator. Professor Wong is on the piano faculty at Kent State. The show is produced by Brian Suntken.
