USA Olympic sweater comes to Pittsburgh for public display

Part of the 10th Annual Pittsburgh Knit and Crochet Festival

MARS, PA— The cardigan sweater that was worn by U.S. Olympic team members at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi is coming to Pittsburgh.  Kraemer Textiles of Nazareth, PA spun the wool into yarn that was used to make the sweaters.

Eleanor Swogger, one of the teachers at the 10th Annual Pittsburgh Knit and Crochet Festival, is a Kraemer Textiles designer. She will bring the sweater with her to the Festival, March 14, 15, 16, along with the hat and scarf that was designed to go with it that all USA Team members wore for the Opening Ceremonies. The sweater, hat and scarf will be on display all weekend during show hours at Kathy's Kreations, Kathy Zimmerman's booth, in the main ballroom.

"We are thrilled to have the sweater come to Pittsburgh, to the Knit and Crochet Festival!" says Barbara Grossman, festival organizer. "I was especially proud to have # 1 NY Times Bestselling Author Debbie Macomber join us, but this is a little like having double icing on the cake for our 10 year anniversary."

There were only 650 manufactured, with only 300 for sale to the public and they were selling for over $4000.00 on some sights online. This one is not for sale, it is for display only. Stop out and have a photo next to the sweater (sorry, no one may try it on).
