Program Schedule for Feb. 17- 23

Superintendent Phil Herman addresses the State of the Schools, covering all major areas of school operations, including academics, safety, enrollment, facilities, technology and finances. In addition, a panel of administrators answers questions submitted by community members. The program is hosted by the Hudson PTA.

HCTV is pleased to present last week's Hudson Community First program "Fostering Mental Wellness in our Children and Teens: A Parent's Guide to Promoting Resiliency" by Dr. Georgette Constantinou, administrative director of pediatric psychiatry and psychology at Akron Children's Hospital.

At the Hudson Library Brimfield Police Chief David Oliver talked about his new book, "No Mopes Allowed," referring to the "criminal element" that he speaks about with humorous and moving stories of his 10 years as the Brimfield Police Chief.

The Spelling Bee of the Hudson Middle School will be shown this week.

The City Club of Cleveland presents a panel discussion about the death penalty in Ohio.

Browns expert, sportswriter and WHK "Sports Fix" commentator Jonathan Knight shared his 10 ideas to "Fix The Browns" from their current lowly state, changes in team philosophy and some off-beat ideas on the causes and remedies for the fall of the historic NFL franchise.

The Hudson Explorers take on the Twinsburg Tigers this Friday. The game will be shown at 10:30 p.m. that night and repeated through the weekend and next week.

This week's edition of "Memory Matters for ALL Ages" talks about creating memory strategies for those with advancing dementia to increase safety, decrease confusion and increase sociability and connections with others.

Music from the Buckeye State presents a varied program of chamber music. Louis Spohr was one of the foremost musicians of the 19th century, a renowned concert violinist and an important teacher, composer and conductor. His Nonet in F Major, Op. 31 for Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass, Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Horn and Bassoon is the first of its type for such an unusual ensemble. Also on the program is a quartet by W.A. Mozart. The show is produced by Brian Suntken.
