The University of Notre Dame Chorale, the concert choir of the University of Notre Dame, will perform a concert at Jan. 5 at 7 p.m. at St. Mary Church, 340 N. Main St., Hudson.
The concert, which is free and open to the public, will feature rare Christmas carols and choral works by Monteverdi, Byrd, Schubert, Poulenc, and Britten.
The University of Notre Dame Chorale's Winter Tour, which begins in Hudson, OH, has subsequent stops in Pittsburgh, PA, Allentown, PA, Baltimore, MD, Roanoke, VA, and Columbus, OH.
The Notre Dame Chorale is directed by Alexander Blachly, known internationally for his Grammy-nominated Renaissance choir Pomerium, with which he has released thirteen commercial recordings of Renaissance choral music on the Old Hall, Glissando, Deutsche Grammophon, Dorian, Classic Masters, and Nonesuch labels.
