Music from The Western Reserve's season includes three concerts with some of the most talent chamber music artists from Northeast Ohio. Concerts are presented in Christ Church Episcopal, Hudson.
Pianist, singer, songwriter, composer, arranger and bandleader, Mike Petrone, returns to the series Feb. 23, 2014. A career that spans more than 25 years, Petrone's jazz piano trio has received acclaim throughout the world. In addition to having performed with The Cleveland Orchestra, Petrone has worked in professional theatre as a musical director and has composed several musicals, scores and motion picture soundtracks.
On March 16, 2014 Music from the Western Reserves presents Marimba Masters of Cleveland. They include five accomplished percussionists: founder Joseph Adato, retired Cleveland Orchestra percussionist, Donald Miller, percussionist with The Cleveland Orchestra, Bruce Golden, former percussionist with the Toledo Symphony, Andrew Pongracz, member of the Cleveland Pops and Matt Hunsaker, freelance percussionist. These talented musicians perform with energy, precision and an intricacy not often heard.
The season closes April 27, 2014 with Michael Sachs, principal trumpet with The Cleveland Orchestra. A member of the orchestra since 1988, Sachs has been praised by critics for his "spectacular chops" and "radiant tone." Sachs is recognized internationally as a leading soloist, recitalist, chamber musician, teacher, author and clinician. Sachs has appeared as a soloist with orchestras and chamber groups throughout the US and internationally.
