Grant opportunity for non-profits in Hudson

The Seniors and Youth Partners in Philanthropy (SAYPIP) Board extends an invitation to Hudson-based non-profit organizations to submit grant applications for funding now through Feb. 14.

The SAYPIP Board consists of Seton Catholic School eighth grade students and residents of the Laurel Lake Retirement Community. The seniors and students work together to learn about philanthropy, grant-making, allocating money, and community service. The year-long program culminates with the request for proposals and distribution of grants to worthy organizations within Hudson. The grants are funded by The Burton D. Morgan Foundation.

Grant applications must be received by Feb. 14 and grant funding will be awarded in March.To request a grant application, contact Patricia Fritz, director of communications, Seton Catholic School at 330-342-4200 ext. 226 or fritzp@setoncatholicschool.org.

Birthday Book Club enrollment open

Enrollment for the Birthday Book Club is now open for ALL birthdays. Hudson PTO invites you to commemorate your child's birthday by buying a brand new book for your child's school library. The cost of a book is $15.

As a participant in the Birthday Book Club your child will choose a new book from the school library's Birthday Bookshelf, have a permanent bookplate with his or her name placed in the inside cover of the book, receive a certificate and bookmark, presented during library period and will have the first opportunity to check out the new library book.

Authors to visit During Right to Read Week

Hudson PTO will host authors Marilyn Sadler and Jeff Miller this March for Right to Read Week. In advance of their visits, PTO is offering their books for purchase at a discount. Ordered books will be autographed by the authors. Parents can shop online at the PTO Store www.HudsonPTO.org/PTOStore/htmlor download an order form to return to the schools.
