Rootstown, Ohio— The NEOMED Board of Trustees welcomed one new appointed member and re-elected two executive committee officers during its meeting Sept. 22.
The Board re-elected J. David Heller, CPA, and Robert J. Klonk as its chair and vice chair, respectively, for additional one-year terms. Heller is co-founder and principal of the NRP Group, a property developer, general contractor and property management company. Klonk is the CEO of The Oswald Companies—an insurance brokerage firm based in Cleveland. Both business executives were sworn in during the meeting.
James M. Guirguis, who was appointed to the Northeast Ohio Medical University Board of Trustees by Governor John R. Kasich for a two-year term that ends June 29, 2018, was also sworn in by the Board as a student representative.
Guirguis is a second-year medicine student at NEOMED. Enrolled in the NEOMED-CSU Partnership for Urban Health, he earned a bachelor’s degree in biology in May 2015 from Cleveland State University, where he also was highly involved in student government. Guirguis is a skilled communicator and an enthusiastic learner whose experience includes working alongside members of the U.S. Congress and university administration.
“I only wish to learn and serve my school as best as I can, and in the future serve my community through health care policy and business administration as well as clinical practice,” stated Guirguis. “My passion for serving those around me is supported by accepting with honor the opportunity to sit on the Board of Trustees.”
Guirguis is the son of Eric and Amy Guirguis of Westlake.
