The Hudson High School "Swing" Marching Band and the Cuyahoga Falls "Tiger" Marching Bands will host blood drives to support the American Red Cross and the raise funds for their individual music programs.
There will be a friendly competition between bands to support the Red Cross and raise funds to help the bands. Both bands will recruit blood donors for their individual blood drives. If the bands reach their blood drive goals, the American Red Cross will award up to $500 to each band as part of their summer scholarship program. The "winning" band will be determined by the highest percentage of blood donors per band students. The winner will be announced at the Sept. 26 Hudson vs. Cuyahoga Falls Football game.
To schedule an appointment, go to www.redcross
blood.org. The Hudson High School blood drive will be Aug. 6 from 1:30 to 6:30 p.m. at 2500 Hudson Aurora Road in the multi-purpose room and wrestling gym.
In addition to encouraging individuals to donate, each band will sell "blood drops" to show support for blood donors.
