Canton, OH - Malone University senior Emily Mills, an art major from Olmsted Township, will present her exhibit Roots & Wings Explored, Friday, April 11 – Saturday, April 19 in the McFadden Art Gallery of the Johnson Center, located on the campus at 2600 Cleveland Avenue N.W. in Canton.  A reception will be held April 13 from 6 – 8 p.m.  The exhibit is a culmination of Emily Mills’ bachelor in fine arts at Malone University and will display her body of artwork from throughout her four years at Malone.

The title “Roots & Wings Explored” embodies the theme and imagery Emily captured and delved into throughout her time in college. The media used include acrylic paint, oil paint, fibers, and mixed media. The exhibit captures the internal clash of roots and wings: roots meaning, wanting the constancy of creation, community, and place, yet simultaneously desiring wings to see the world and be a free-bird.
