Vance George, director emeritus of the San Francisco Symphony and Chorus will lead the Academy Choir, Western Reserve Academy Orchestra and student soloists in the annual Vespers program Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. for the general public and on Dec. 8 at 5 p.m. for students, faculty and WRA families.

The Dec. 7 performance will provide the public with a rare opportunity to hear WRA's student musicians under the direction of George, who is recognized internationally as one of the world's leading choral conductors. During his 23 years with the San Francisco Symphony and Chorus, the group was considered one of the finest in the world and earned several Grammy awards, including best choral performance in 1992 for Carl Orff's Carmina Burana, and in 1995 for Brahm's Ein deutsches Requiem.

Both performances, which are free, will be held in the Chapel located on WRA's historic campus at 115 College St. Hudson.
