Hudson senior Nick McCauslin receives full-tuition scholarship to Queens University

Hudson Schools - Hudson High School senior Nicholas McCauslin received a surprise visit at school on March 6, accompanied by a trumpeting fanfare provided by three Hudson band members. Associate Vice President and Dean of Admissions Woody O'Cain of Queens University in North Carolina was at Hudson High School on a special mission to award Nick with a full-tuition paid Presidential Scholarship to attend the University in the fall. The University awards only eight full-tuition scholarships across the nation. Close friends of Nick's, Aaron Tian, Kevin Payravi, and Ruidi Lu, mother Jill McCauslin, Principal Brian Wilch and Guidance Counselor John Frahlich also participated in the surprise ceremony.

"Presidential Scholars are students who exemplify all that we ultimately seek in a student as displayed through their academic excellence, leadership achievement, service to community, and potential to make a distinctive difference in our community and world," said O'Cain."

Queens University is located in Charlotte, North Carolina, and is home to 2,600 undergraduate and graduate students.
