1) Boston Heights Memorial Day observance
The 2017 Village of Boston Heights observance of Memorial Day begins with the Woodridge Marching Band parading from its Fire Department to Fairview Cemetery at 8:30 a.m. Members of the Hudson American Legion Post 464 will perform the flagpole service lowering the American flag to half-staff while the band plays patriotic music. Pastor Dan Page presents the Memorial Service that is followed by the band playing Taps. Those in attendance are then invited by Mayor Bill Goncy to follow bagpiper Doug Risley to the Village Fallen Safety Force Memorial for Police and Firefighters where Pastor Page leads the brief service. Afterwards the Fairview Cemetery Association invites all attendees to light refreshments in the neighboring Village Hall at 45 E. Boston Mills Road.
2) Hudson Memorial Day observance
Residents who would like to participate in the American Legion Family Hudson Memorial Day Parade you must submit your "Parade Entry Form". The deadline to submit your form is May 25. The parade will be Monday, May 29 and will start at 10 a.m. The parade will form on Milford Road and proceed east on SR 303 to SR 91 heading north to Markillie Cemetery. The speaker this year at the cemetery will be Hudson's own Tom Vince.

3) Rubber City Pop Culture Fest
The first Rubber City Pop Culture Fest will be May 26-28 at the historic Goodyear Hall, 1201 Ohio 18, Akron.
The weekend kicks off May 26 from 4 to 8 p.m. This preview night is $5. There are also weekend passes available for $25. Saturday hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Admission is $15 for adults, children $5 on Saturday and Sunday. People can get $5 off Ticket Price by bringing approved donation, information at www.rcpcfest.com.
Other events for the weekend include a Cosplay Contest at 2:30 p.m. Saturday with celebrity judges and prizes for four age groups. The contest will be run by Rubber City Cosplay.
Undaground Wrestling will be doing a wrestling Seminar Friday evening from 4 to 8 p.m. with WWE Legend Pat Tanaka. There will be a "Burning Rubber" Main Event will start at 5 p.m.
Sunday Morning from 8 to 10 a.m. at the east Akron Cemetery will start the "Walk With a Walker" Charity Zombie Walk. Walk with "The Walkng Dead" celebrity walkers Stephen Vining and Tim Proctor.
Sunday at 3:30 p.m. will be a Charity Auction with awesome Pop Culture items including signed items and art.
