1) Hudson EMS open house May 20
Find out how Hudson EMS is "Called to Care" for the community on Saturday, May 20 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Safety Center, 40 S. Oviatt St. Join us for free food, refreshments, children's activities, station tours, and meet Warrior Woman and Patriotic Hero as you learn how the members of Hudson EMS help save lives.
Guests will also enjoy a bounce house, music, giveaways, and more provided by Western Reserve Hospital. Training for use of a fire extinguisher and CPR will also be available. There's plenty of fun for kids and adults alike, so bring the whole family.
The chance to meet the members of Hudson EMS kicks off National EMS Week (May 21-27), a week set aside to celebrate those who are available 24/7 to come to the community's aid when needed. Thank you to all our safety forces for your continued commitment to the community.
2) Buy, sell at stamp show May 21
The Hudson Stamp Show will be May 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Clarion Inn, 6625 Dean Memorial Parkway in Hudson.
Five dealers buying and selling U.S. and foreign postage stamps, covers, some postcards and stamp supplies.

3) Laurel Lake hosts wellness events in May
The following events are hosted by Laurel Lake Retirement Community.
Wellness Walks will take place on Thursdays in May (May 18 and 25) at 9:30 a.m. on the paved path behind Barlow Community Center, 41 S. Oviatt St. in Hudson. We meet in the parking lot and begin as a group. Walk at a pace and for the amount of time that is good for you. Group ends by 10:30 a.m. Easy parking, paved path, and benches along the way. The Community Outreach nurse Mary Pat and social worker Kristin will join you. This free healthy living opportunity is sponsored by Laurel Lake Retirement Community's Community Outreach program. A Lunch & Learn for older adults will be May 18 from noon to 1 p.m. at Christ Church Episcopal, 21 Aurora St, Hudson. Chief Jerry Varnes of Hudson EMS/Fire will present.
