A noon spring luncheon has been planned for members and guests of the Ezekial Richardson Chapter Colonial Dames Seventeenth Century on March 20 at Laurel Lake Community. Reservations should be made by March 15 with Libby Erwin, 122 S. Hayden Parkway, Hudson, Ohio 44236.
Arrangements for this event were made by Ann Farmer, recording secretary and Lora Staats, vice president.
President Sharon Snowden will lead the opening ceremonies and conduct a short business meeting. She'll also give a report of the Ohio Society State Conference that was Feb. 24-25 at the Holiday Inn in Worthington.
The nominating committee of Dianne Hall Allison, Roberta Dodd and Rose McIntyre have done a conscientious job and will present a slate of officers for 2017-2019. The installation of the officers will be held at the May 15 meeting at the Noble House in Hudson.
David Allison will return again and give the program, "John Brown at Harper's Ferry." He graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School and received a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Akron. His entire career was spent in information technology, and he retired as a technology manager from Aircraft Braking Systems, formerly Goodyear Aerospace. Allison belongs to the following organizations: Masons, Scottish Rite, Military Order of the Stars and Bars, Lafayette Chapter Sons of the American Revolution (vice president and past president for six years), Ohio Genealogical Society (First Families of Ohio) and Scottish-American Society. He and his wife enjoy traveling in the United States and abroad. Both of them do presentations on American History to various groups. His hobbies are genealogy and American and European history.
