Hudson Library's Writing To Publish Series: The Hudson Library & Historical Society continues its Writing to Publish Series with literary agent Victoria Selvaggio on Oct. 5 at 7 p.m.

Selvaggio will share a few quick tips on research, do's and dont's , and examples of what makes a query standout in the slush pile. Selvaggio has graciously agreed to accept queries from workshop attendees after the session.

The Writing to Publish series will be held the first Wednesday of every month at 7 p.m. through December. Future topics will be "Getting the Call and Selling Your Book the Traditional Route" and "Navigating the Changing World of Self-Publishing."

As an associate agent at the Jennifer De Chiara Literary Agency, receiving hundreds of queries a week, Victoria A. Selvaggio has learned that composing that exceptional query and querying agents can be daunting tasks. Drawn to the publishing scene first as an author writing all genres, with her most recent publication in the 2015 Children's Writer's and Illustrator's Market, Vicki's passion for honing the craft carried over into reading manuscripts for the agency. Currently, she is excited to read compelling manuscripts that will resonate with her long after she's done.
